For the iOS version, see Drop Wizard.

Drop Wizard is an action, arcade browser version of the iOS game of the same name having similar controls and game components but noticeably more condensed than the iOS version. The player controls Teo, a wizard who is able to cast star projectiles to defeat enemies.

The browser version of Drop Wizard was actually developed first before the iOS version, wherein Neutronized saw its potential of being a mobile game[1].

Differences between versions[]

Compared to the iOS version, the most notable differences include:

  • Only 18 levels that take place in Cedar Woods[2] at various stages of the day, in contrast to the 60+ levels grouped into sets featuring different scenarios (acts).
  • Teo is given two lives per level, in contrast to the six lives per set given in the iOS version
  • Boss battles, sprites, artistic designs and animations are simpler.
  • The story is different and simpler, with no mention of Mia nor any audience. Snowballs appear as enemies instead of making up the audience.

Unlike Drop Wizard's iOS version, the browser version of Drop Wizard was never officially announced but instead confirmed to be available as earliest as June 1st via a twitter tweet requesting its validity[3].

Levels[]

The browser version of Drop Wizard consists of 18 levels, plus a tutorial present at the start of level 1. The gameplay is the same as Drop Wizard's iOS version, revolving around Teo completing levels by defeating all enemies via the star projectiles he fires when he lands on platforms.

Drop wizard ending

The ending depicts an image of Teo standing in a forest-like area with a happy expression while three star projectiles are seen over head. Text above the image reads, in uppercase letters, "game complete" while text below also in uppercase letters reads, "Good job! You defeated all the minions causing trouble in our kingdom."

Enemies[]

  • Slime-bunnies - Hop back and forth across platforms with the blue variation of slime-bunnies being able to fall off platforms.
  • Eggs - Move back and forth across platforms and do not harm the player. Every time they drop from a platform, their shell cracks with the shell being fully broken upon three drops. An enemy will appear from the egg and will vary depending on the level.
  • Snowballs - May occasionally break into a run when they see the player and typically walk once across a platform before returning and falling off it.
  • Grunty - Runs across platforms occasionally jumping gaps.
  • Ghosts - Move back and forth across platforms and will disappear if they see the player. They reappear once the player is out of sight and can only be harmed from the back.
  • Onions - Burrow in the ground if Teo is facing them on the same platform they are on. If rolling with several enemies, they may lose their leaves which will result in them becoming enraged and running around quickly.
  • Ghoul - Appears a certain period of time after "Hurry Up" appears on the screen. It cannot be killed by the player and moves in between platforms with somewhat random movements. It will disappear once the player dies or defeats all enemies.
  • Frogs - Hop back and forth across platforms at a somewhat fast pace. Can also fall off platforms regularly.

Interactive objects[]

  • Potions - Appear after enemies are defeated and come in different types. The star potion allows the player to fire two spell projectiles, one going left and the other right, upon landing on a platform. The running show potion allows the player to run quickly.
  • Grass - Appears growing on platforms in certain areas and may produce items when passed over by rolling enemies.
  • Pickups - Point granting items that appear in the forms of diamonds, fruit, or ice cream sundaes and are dropped by defeated enemies or produced by grass.
