Alex, sometimes referred to as Alex the Cat[1], is the main character of Super Cat Tales and Super Cat Tales 2. He is also a playable character in Super Cat Tales: Magic Bridge! and Yokai Dungeon.
Appearance[]
Alex is a cat with a distinct feline shape and head. His limbs are stubby and his coat resembles that of a tuxedo cat by its predominately dark grey colour and white present on the tip of his tail, his chest, chin, and between his ears. The inside of Alex's ears are pink and triangular with his nose being the same shade of pink and rectangular. His eyes are rectangular and green which matches the green of his collar, of which a yellow bell is hung from. Lastly, on either side of his face two small black whiskers extend outwards.
Game information[]
Alex appears in the first level of both Super Cat Tales and Super Cat Tales 2, and is the first playable character in both games. He is able to run up walls, wall jump, and run quickly with running next to a drop making him leap across it. After being hit twice by an enemy, Alex will be knocked out of the level and cause a heart to be lost from the player's lives. His special ability is to run up walls without losing any momentum.
In Super Cat Tales 2, all of his skills are the same as he had in the first game. Small, white blocks can also be broken by him and other cats, an ability used only by Brutus. The player no longer loses hearts when Alex is defeated by hitting enemies twice while he is stunned, a small message pops out and asks if they want to continue, then they need to watch a video in order to do so. If the player ignores it, they will return to the world map. Upon watching the video completely, Alex flashes and is invincible for a few seconds before he returns to normal.
